Hi, I'ld like to know will this jailbrake be able to unlock my iPhone 3G that I locked with devTeam jailbrake when I tried to updated to 3.1 but I restored to original 3.1 so my network is lost?
Geohot, it would be great, if you could implement a downgrade option, if that is possible.
Many on 3.0/3.0.1 don't like the idea to upgrade to 3.1 (either from pawned 3.0 or with what you might come up), but once on 3.1 having no option to go back to 3.0
There are so many reports about issues with 3.1, some are so serious, that I'd say, the iPhone became almost useless for the poor folks, experiencing these issues after they upgraded.
Furthermore, does your solution allow to restore the iPhone, without loosing the jailbreak or at least without loosing the option to jailbreak again, which was a serious problems for jailbroken 3GS on 3.0/3.0.1 due to Apple's new firmware signing sh*t until dev-team released PwnageTool 3.1.3
Wait ppl it's just two days, yesterday you all had no hope and today have Geohot with a ETA of two days, relax, leave the guy work, i don't think he will lost time reading you all if he promised in two days.

hmmm, I start to smell weird things here, there are 3 options:
1. George hotz is somehow allied with the apple crew and in not convenient to close the jailbreak.
2. He has a very high IQ and is easier for him to find an exploit on a digital machine than find a problem in normal social life.
3. The dev team love to keep us waiting, and George has a very little patience.

I have a problem. I have iPhone 3GS. I got it having 3.0.1 and JB it. Then, dumbass I am, I wanted to clear all content and data through options menu - iPhone crashed. I had to use restore. Now I have 3.1. I did not save anythiing to Cydia :( Tried every method on the web with no luck. I do NOT get any 1015 error. or something...

For those who already have 3.0/3.0.1 jailbroken, you can upgrade to 3.1 right now using PwnageTool (build a custom IPSW, and restore with it). And using PwnageTool is the *only* way to keep your baseband unlocked to use ultrasn0w/purplesn0w.
Not thread crapping since I'm looking forward to George's tool, I just wanted to clarify to users like Kevin who said they were waiting for this but are already jailbroken on 3.0*.
Also, for those asking, George's tool will not unlock the baseband. So if your BB says 05.*, then no, you cannot unlock it, even with his tool. This is only to jailbreak the device.

I tell you what, I paid for the of shelf jaibreak of 3.1 3Gs, and the method was thru a Chinese web site, they have asked for the IMEI number and made the jailbreak especially for that phone, and I payed for it, the phone crashes a lot and it stops working once in a while, not like my girlfriend’s 3Gs 3.1, I'm willing to support and paid for this one, since I think it will work more reliable and without any hiccups, let me know GHotz

im hoping this work for my phone .
i did a factory reset while it was jailbroken/unlocked for tmobile but i couldn't bring my phone back to life . i tried using irecovery but it was just way to difficult to use for me .
